TRANSPARENT AND AUDITABLE

No black box. The Fractal Model leverages Microsoft Excel and provides users with unlocked and auditable calculations and algorithms. Users can customize formulas and add their own cash flow (or use Fractal’s cash flow model).

ESTABLISHED

The Fractal Model is an established technoeconomic model in the energy industry. It is used for project development, due diligence, project finance and tax equity. The Fractal team has a six-year track record of delivering project design and analysis using the Fractal Model.

FAST AND POWERFUL

The Fractal Model has inputs ranging from seasonal (12 months x 24 hours) to hourly (8760 hours x 40 years). The Fractal Model Add-in is 20 times faster than VBA and automatically optimizes the dispatch using hourly prices and 15 min prices..

 

 

ACCURATE COSTS

The Fractal Model is the only tool that models CAPEX, OPEX and degradation according to real market data. Fractal aggregates project costs from procurements across different sizes, technologies and CODs. Pricing curves are updated quarterly.

DESIGN / DISPATCH FLEXIBILITY

The Fractal Model provides design and analysis for standalone BESS or hybrid resources (PV+S (AC or DC coupled), wind+storage, gas+storage). Projects can be FTM or BTM. Dispatch can be merchant, full off-take or quasi merchant.

The Fractal Model accurately simulates:

  • Efficiencies (user configurable curves)
  • Degradation (6 different chemistries + user defined chemistry)

Fractal Model can pull performance data from Fractal EMS and create a digital twin. Use the digital twin to further optimize the balance between costs and revenues.

SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS

Perform sensitivity analysis by changing annual escalators for capacity payments, arbitrage revenue, ancillary revenue, warranty costs, aux load costs, corrective maintenance, etc.
